Where solenoid diaphragm pumps fit
In a solenoid diaphragm metering pump an electromagnet drives the diaphragm directly, with no motor or gearbox. The pumps are compact, light and easy to install, and suit low-flow, low-to-moderate pressure dosing such as sodium hypochlorite disinfection, pH adjustment and antiscalant or corrosion-inhibitor feed.
Most models adjust output by stroke frequency and stroke length and accept external pulse, 4–20 mA or fieldbus control, so they can follow a flow meter or an online analyzer.
Check maximum flow, system back-pressure and the compatibility of head and diaphragm materials with the chemical. For gassing chemicals such as hypochlorite or hydrogen peroxide, consider a self-degassing head. Use the flow and pressure filters to narrow down models from several brands.
