Chemical Dosing Systems (Dosing Skids)

A dosing skid (chemical dosing system) integrates the solution tank, mixer, metering pumps, pipework and valves, relief and back-pressure valves, pulsation dampers, level gauges and a control panel on one base frame. It is used to dose PAC, PAM, sodium hypochlorite, acids, alkalis, antiscalants and similar chemicals into potable water, cooling water, boiler feed and wastewater systems.

Common types include liquid dosing units, powder make-up and dosing units, acid/alkali dosing units, containerised dosing stations and weighing (batching) dosing units.

To specify a skid, define the chemical and its concentration, dosing rate and injection-point pressure, duty/standby or multi-point dosing, tank volume and make-up interval, and whether dosing should follow a flow meter or online analyzer signal.
