Doseuro Metering Pump Brand Guide: Italian Plunger and Diaphragm Pumps

Author: Zhejiang Weilan Technology Co., Ltd.Source: Official sitePublished: Category: Industry News
Summary: Who makes the Doseuro metering pump? A look at the Italian brand: spring return and API 675 ranges, solenoid pumps, RAPIDA 2.0, JSO skids and polymer units.

Water treatment contractors regularly bring us drawings with Doseuro written in the pump schedule and ask who makes it and whether it's easy to match. The brand isn't widely known in every market, so here is a plain overview of the Doseuro metering pump line, sorted the way we read the catalogs ourselves.

Who Makes the Doseuro Metering Pump

Doseuro is an Italian manufacturer that describes itself as a multinational. It specializes in pumps and complete systems for dosing chemicals, acids and other liquids. It has branches in several countries and a network of agents and distributors in more than 70 countries. The US catalog says the company has been building metering pumps for more than 40 years.

Current catalogs and data sheets carry the FPZ name with an address in Concorezzo, Italy, and the brochure closes with the FPZ worldwide sales network. Older catalogs list Doseuro's own head office. If you see both names on the same paperwork, that's why.

Two Families, Split by Return Mechanism

A Doseuro metering pump comes in three liquid end styles: plunger, hydraulic diaphragm and mechanical diaphragm. There are also small solenoid-driven pumps. The Doseuro metering pump catalog makes most sense when you split it into spring return and positive return.

Spring return (SR series)

These pumps all use a vertically mounted motor and a worm gear reducer, with a spring pulling the plunger or diaphragm back on each stroke. The range includes:

  • Type A plunger pumps: for non-hazardous liquids and high pressure. A/AP 125N to 250N go up to 250 barg.
  • Type D mechanical diaphragm pumps: for hazardous liquids, no-leak duties and moderate pressure. Flow goes up to about 1400 l/h and pressure up to 14 barg, though not on the same model.
  • Type B&BR hydraulic diaphragm pumps. The BR version has a safety valve in the hydraulic circuit to protect the diaphragm.
  • Type SD sandwich hydraulic diaphragm pumps, with a double diaphragm and rupture detection.
  • Type FM mechanical diaphragm pumps, with an all-plastic casing for acid environments. The two models top out at 14 l/h and 47 l/h.

Positive return (PDP series)

These are designed to API 675 and comply with ATEX, so they can go into classified areas. Stated accuracy is ±1% between 10% and 100% of rated capacity. A-I is the plunger type, and the A I 350 reaches 3569 l/h at 40 barg. SDI is a sandwich hydraulic diaphragm pump. MR I is the high pressure sandwich hydraulic diaphragm pump, rated to 200 barg. The catalog positions SDI and MR I for toxic, corrosive and hazardous liquids in harsh environments, with remote failure detection.

Small Flows and Supporting Products

For low flows and simple operation, the Doseuro metering pump range includes the SDP solenoid series, with a built-in microprocessor that packs plenty of functions into a few models. For food and beverage there is the DV101 vertical pump, whose motor can be mounted on either side, aimed at wineries and breweries.

The supporting range around each Doseuro metering pump is easy to overlook:

  1. RAPIDA 2.0 inverter motor with display, manual setting, analog input such as 4-20mA or 0-10V, and Modbus RTU, made for the SR series.
  2. JSO pre-engineered systems: a PP frame carrying one or two pumps, with a Y strainer and calibration pot on the suction side, and pulsation dampeners, back pressure valve, relief valve and pressure gauge on the discharge.
  3. HA-HE automatic polyelectrolyte preparation units producing 300 to 5000 liters of solution per hour.
  4. EM electric mixers, plus tanks, valves and other accessories.

Accessories are well covered. Back pressure valves handle discharge lines with little or no pressure, and relief valves protect against overpressure. Pulsation dampeners come as HSTX with a 316 stainless body or HSTPVC with a PVC body. A calibration pot checks real flow on site, and polyethylene tanks can carry the pump on top.

Motors and Control on a Doseuro Metering Pump

Standard motors are 4-pole, UNEL-MEC compliant, typically 0.09–4.0 kW at European three-phase 230/400V, 50 Hz. Voltage, frequency, insulation class and explosion-proof motors can all be specified, and some products already use IE3 motors.

Flow adjustment can be manual, or via servo motor, pneumatic control, variable frequency, MODBUS, PROFIBUS or the RAPIDA interface. If the pump has to talk to a DCS, spell out the protocol before ordering.

Where Doseuro Pumps Are Used

The application list is broad: water treatment (wastewater, drinking water, boiler water, cooling towers), pulp and paper, food and beverage, oil and gas, agriculture, metalworking and mining, textiles, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, plastics and petrochemicals, ceramics and painting. Methanol injection at well heads, boiler feed water treatment and cooling tower dosing all appear on it.

What to Watch When a Doseuro Metering Pump Is Specified

If a drawing names a Doseuro metering pump, first establish which family the pump belongs to, then talk about the model. Type D and Type SD are both diaphragm pumps, but one is mechanical and one is hydraulic, and pressure capability and maintenance differ a lot.

The usual mistake is copying only the maximum flow and leaving out pressure and materials. The Type D literature says it's for duties where high pressure isn't required, so higher back pressure points toward hydraulic diaphragm or plunger pumps. Ask about spare parts lead times early, and keep a spare diaphragm and ball set with any imported Doseuro metering pump. Flow tables often show 50 Hz and 60 Hz columns. On a 50 Hz grid, read the 50 Hz column.

Conclusion

In short, the Doseuro metering pump comes from an Italian manufacturer whose range covers plunger, mechanical diaphragm, hydraulic diaphragm and solenoid pumps, backed by inverter motors, pre-engineered dosing skids and polymer preparation units. Sort the duty by return mechanism and pump type first, then match flow, pressure and materials to a specific model, and confirm accessories and control at the same time.

FAQ

What country is Doseuro from?

Italy. Current literature is published by FPZ, based in Concorezzo, Italy, with branches in several countries.

Can a Doseuro metering pump be used in a hazardous area?

Some can. The PDP series complies with ATEX, and SR types such as A and D are offered in ATEX versions. It depends on model and motor.

How high does the pressure go?

The literature lists 250 barg for Type A plunger pumps and 200 barg for MR I hydraulic diaphragm pumps. Higher pressures are available on request.

Is there a ready-made dosing skid?

Yes. The JSO system mounts pumps, valves, strainer, dampeners and gauge on a PP frame, for one or two pumps.

Can a Chinese-made pump replace it?

It depends on the duty. For routine water treatment dosing, a domestic mechanical diaphragm pump often does the job. For API 675 or high pressure duties, compare the specs line by line.
